The Press Enterprise is Riverside’s local newspaper. It has a more provincial feel than a larger newspaper, such as The Los Angeles Times. I think in a city like Riverisde, where culture is vast, that being able to highlight and spotlight more local stories is crucial.

We want to know what’s going on here, in our city. We want to know things that directly affect us, and The Press Enterprise does a great job of doing that. They also are very informative about world news, sports, and business as well. But this isn’t a world news, sports, or business blog

Ron Loveridge

Ron Loveridge has been the mayor of Riverside since 1994, before that he served on the city council since 1979. Loveridge received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. He has taught political science at UCR since 1965.

It is surprising to me that many people do not know the mayor. They don’t know his name, or what he looks like, let alone what he stands for. Mayor Loveridge is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I think you have to be that way when in politics… who wants to someone mean in office?

If any of you see him walking around downtown or eating in the plaza, be sure to say hello and thank him for all he does for our city.
